Vehicles used by mafia clans in the 18th century?

Question by Maki Kuzunoha: Vehicles used by mafia clans in the 18th century?
I read the wiki and deduced that mafia clans start to grow around early 1800, and cars (automobiles, actually) began to be invented around the same time. Does this means that mafia clans from around that time uses such automobiles to travel around? Or do they uses horse carriages or another vehicles? Please answer and include source, if possible.
