Question by von_karolinas: How to have an auction for book rights?
I read that the rights for "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova were originally sold through an auction to the highest bidding publisher. I can't remember the other titles, but I've read other articles where the book rights were sold through auction rather than the traditional method of having an agent pimp the material around.
