Q&A: Learning to work on import cars?

I just bought a 2002 subaru impreza wrx and I know basically nothing about cars. I don't want to be one of those people that has a fast car and knows nothing about it. I was wondering if anybody would be able to recommend any books, magazines, or websites that would help me learn about what kind of usual upgrades people do to imports and maintenance just to get the ball rolling.
