Q&A: What type of Japanese is used the most?

Question by Vincent: What type of Japanese is used the most?
I've had a look at many authentic Japanese stuff and saw that Kanji is used sparingly while Hiragana is used more than Katakana.

I was just wondering if it's like that throughout Japan?
